When children especially girls hit teenage years, we all start worrying about our self image more than we use to. We begin to worry about our weight, our hair, our face. We try to change our self, we cover our self in makeup, we spend hours on our hair and worst of all we starve ourselves. Why do we do this? We are asked this question by our parents/younger siblings, teachers and our friends. None of them understand that we as teenagers become obsessed with our self image because the media’s standards of pretty are getting higher and the higher they get the further we are from those standards. But we can't give all the blame to the media because we need to realise that no one is as pretty as they look on TV or magazines. Everyone is always air brushed. I'm not saying we can't improve our image but we are going about it the wrong way here are a few simple tips that will help improve our image.
Firstly, you could try go jogging or take part in physical activity this will help you lose weight. Secondly, you could try eating more healthily by creating a food plan that makes sure you stay on a healthy diet. This way you don't need to starve yourself also by eating less chocolate, sweets and crisp you will get less spots and therefore you won't need to wear things like concealer or other types of makeup to cover them up. Thirdly, once you stop comparing yourself to celebrities, to your sibling and your friends the happier you will be with the way you look. Also ignore anyone that tells you you’re fat, ugly or anorexic. Next those of you that smoke and take drugs and things like that and worry about yourself image, it would help if you stopped smoking as that affects your skin, your weight and your health.
I hope those of you that are trying to improve yourself image find these tips useful as I, myself and people I know have tried some of these things and have seen a difference over time. Just remember it does take time, as nothing happens overnight.

we are judged, and we judge.
we are judged, and we judge. we are worried about being judged for appearance, for who we are but we judge people on their appearance and who we think they are. no one is what they seem, even our parents don't know the real us we just make them think that they do. we put on masks and make-up a story for ourselves but non of its true. we hide behind our stories to hide our pain. no one but ourselves knows our true story. we all have something to hide, somethings are darker then others but we all have something to hide. so we cant judge people on who we think they are because even the happiest, weirdest, funniest, craziest and most popular person is wearing a mask we see what they want us to see not who they truly are.
so next time you judge someone, remember that everyone around you is wearing a mask and you only see what that person lets you see. everyone has a story that they choose to hide.
